Children and folk dance

The activities of children's folklore groups have changed considerably in the past two decades as they are no longer passive imitators of adult groups, but create their own repertoires, adapted to different age groups. The directors of folklore groups and teachers should mediate the dance heritage to the children through suitable methodology procedures, as it is their task to train children for the future and provide them with appropriate knowledge and skills. A responsible attitude to the dance heritage and the introduction of its elements in pre-school and school curricula will contribute to our appreciation of the cultural heritage and its preservation for future generations.
